Purdue University – Reading & Gift Recognition

April 8 @ 4:00 pm 6:00 pm

Archives and Special Collections and Purdue University Press, units within Purdue University Libraries and School of Information Studies, invite you to a reading and recognition event celebrating the publication of William F. Causey’s latest book, John Houbolt: The Unsung Hero of the Apollo Moon Landings, published by Purdue University Press. We also gather to celebrate the author’s generous gift, the William F. Causey Space Exploration Collection, to Purdue University Archives and Special Collections. This collection includes rare signed first editions; items that have flown in space; and mission manuals, reports, and publications – many of which are signed by U.S. astronauts. Join Libraries to celebrate Purdue’s proud commitment to preserve and make accessible  special collections materials that help to tell the story of space exploration, right here in the “Cradle of Astronauts.” Date: Friday, April 8, 2022 Time: 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. EST, remarks at 4:30 p.m. Location: Humanities, Social Sciences and Education (HSSE) Library, 4th Floor Stewart Center, 504 W State Street, West Lafayette, IN
